Visual Development artist
Jill van der Lans is a Moluccan-Dutch Visual Development Artist & illustrator. She is currently studying animation at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Her heart lies in digital painting with a lot of texture, interesting details, warm lighting and compelling storytelling.
Much of her personal work is born from the love of her Moluccan heritage and inspired by her cultural identity. Jill's passion lies in telling inspiring stories filled with myths, ghosts and fantasies and share them with the world. She also addresses sensitive topics like colonialism and racism so one can learn from past mistakes.
When she's not immersed in her passion for design, Jill can be found spending time in nature, eating her favourite south-east asian meals, watching fantasy movies or having quality time with her loved ones.
Currently a story & visdev intern at Miet Mi, the Netherlands.
